Why You Should Exfoliate More Than Your Face

Exfoliation is often a word you hear when reading about skincare regimens. We're often told about the need to exfoliate but rarely told why it is important. But first, what is exfoliation?

Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the top layer of skin. It’s important to exfoliate as part of your skincare routine at least once a week as these cells gather and can leave the skin looking and feeling dull. They also tend to create a blockage and can be the underlying cause of a number of skin problems, including acne.

As we age, our bodies do not slough away dead skin cells as quickly as they once did. This leaves skin rough and dull. But it's not just the face, it's the entire body.

How Do You Exfoliate The Body?
There are two ways to exfoliate the body: mechanical and chemical. The mechanical method refers to scrubbing the skin in order to exfoliate it while chemical exfoliation makes use of skincare products which contain acids that remove the dead skin cells without harsh scrubbing. Harsh chemicals can irritate the skin.

But there is a product on the market that is a solution to exfoliating the entire body. That's Earthen's InstantPeel™. InstantPeel™ is a solution that gently removes dead skin cells with just your fingertips, proteins, and enzymes.

Better yet, it can be used on your entire body. While in the shower, simply use a small amount on the desired area and begin to massage the area firmly yet gently. The dead skin will begin to "ball up" and will simply wash away. If using as a face peel, take care in using around the eyes as the skin is thin in that area.
